Save our habitat ✨

Talofa Lava , Today my group ( Lily U , Lino , Courtney and Vaiola ) had to write a explanation text about animals habitat. We started off with a plan to make progress in our work and to help us throughout our writing. This is what we just started off with so it's short have a good read !

 To start, most mammals are endangered because their habitats are getting destroyed by humans. They’re endangered by construction workers that destroy their homes to make new places for other humans. 

First of all, mammals are endangered because they lose their habitats due to human activity. For example, people destroy their homes for money or people litter, and when they litter it gets all over the place. Some animals even think litter is food so they try to eat it but then get sick (which is very bad for our environment). The change towards losing their habitat, we should stop littering, stop busting down their habitat, and if you see any litter think better and pick it up.

Recount Writing - First plane trip

 

- On Thursday 12 March , was the day we went to Australia for the first time I was was so excited that I was going to another country ! I was going with my little brother ( cedric ) and my mum. We were going to see how Australia is. 

- Before the day we left NZ , I got told to pack my suitcase and had to pack stuff I needed and things I use. We got to the airport and said bye to my family. I was sad but happy at the same time that I was leaving. After that we went to the check- in baggage attendants so they could check everything. We got thru without having to take anything out. 

- We got onto the plane and sat on our seats. The seat felt like a fluffy cloud , it was so comfortable and since it was my first time I was looking around at all the people. My mum brought some snacks , so she told us to grab it and eat so we don’t have to be hungry. Their also was some flight attendants giving out some meals for us people on the plane. 

- I listened to music while looking out the window and I also watched some movies. Awhile later , I fell asleep on the plane and then my mum was telling me to get up we’ve arrived to Australia !!  

- I spent about like 3-2 years in Australia and also went school there it was a good time there.

Chemistry of life

Talofa Lava !, I'm blogging my Chemistry of life drawing of what I know about Chemistry of life. This was related to our Inquiry topic this term ( Genomics ) which was very exciting. It was kind of complicated to understand what it meant and everything but I now know what it's about. Here is some notes and things I know about Chemistry of life :)

Mean, Median and Mode ( How to find it )

Kia Orana !, Today I'm blogging about how to find the Mean, Median and Mode. It took me a pretty long time to learn about it but I managed to get it. This is how I would explain how to find the Mean, Median and Mode. First I'll show how to find the Mean.

Mean, is when you add it up and divide it by how much numbers there is. Like 11 12 13 14 you need to add it all up 11 + 12 + 13 + 14 = 50 and then you divide it by four because there was four numbers that you added up. So 50 ÷ 4 = 12. 5 that is how I would do it. 

Median, it means you have to look for the number that's in the middle for example 1 2 3 th Median is 2 because it's the number in the middle. If it is an uneven number, like 1 2 3 4 you have to add the two numbers in the middle 2 + 3 and divide by two because it's only two numbers. But remember you have to put it in a ascending order ( smallest to largest ) or an descending order ( largest to smallest ) .

Mode, is when you look for the number that is repeated more than once. For example 10 5 6 7 6 the answer is 6 because it got repeated twice. If it's 10 10 7 8 7 the answer would be 10 & 7 because there was two numbers that got repeated. If it's 10 6 7 8 just write no mode because there was no numbers that got repeated do not write 0.

Talofa lava ! Today's maths was about Mean, Median and Mode. This was my first time learning about it.

What I found difficult was trying to find out what the mode was because I didn't realise that I didn't have a mode for my family😂  

Remember before you add all of it up maybe put it in order ( smallest to biggest)
