Blindfold obstacle course

On Thursday the 28th of Feb.Room 7 played a game called Blindfold obstacle
course,I was excited. We played the game because we needed to do something
fun and we were going to write a recount about it.

Miss Ashley gave us 2 instructions,the first instruction was to “Go and find a
buddy” and “sit near the heater”. There were rules, the rules were we can’t touch
our buddy’s shoulder and we can’t touch the tables and chairs. Next we had to
put our buddies blindfold on and stand up.

But then suddenly Miss called me,Lily and Maria to come and set it up. So we got
the tables and the chairs and put the chairs upside down and curved the tables.
Then we were finished so I went back to my buddy she was (Litia). There was
bonus points one was the highlighter and the other was the padlock,if you touch it
then u get bonus points.

“Start” shouted Miss Ashley

“Go forward” said Litia

“Okay” I said

“Go left,Crawl under the table and stand up and touch the padlock” said Litia.

“Your finished” shouted Litia

I was extremely happy that i was finished and glad that I didn't bump into anything
.We had to swap and it was my turn to guide Litia.

How Maui brang fire to the world

One night Maui wondered how to make fire.So he went and lit all the fire out .
The next morning everyone woke up and complained and said
“How are we going to keep warm at night”. “How am i going to cook food for my
children” shouted the villagers. They were so mad at Maui so they told him  
“you must go to the volcano and get more fire” yelled the villagers. So then
Maui started his voyage to go and find mahuika. Along the way he came pass
a pukeko and a kiwi bird who wanted to go with him and he said yes.They
walked and they found the volcano just before Maui walked in he had a karkia
and then took a deep breath in and with his confidence he walked in and saw
Mahuika. So then Maui asked can “I please have some fire” so then Mahuika
gave maui 1 finger nail and Maui said thank you,So Maui walked out and went
and threw it in the river so then he walked back and said sorry  Mahuika I had
tripped and it fell into the river. Maui keep walking back and forth telling different
types of excuses so then Mahuika only had one more fire ball left and she
knew that Maui was telling lies, So then Mahuika got angry and light up the
floor. Then Maui ran as fast as he could to go outside because how the fire
was burning the floor, He got outside and he quickly turned into an eagle and
flew up so Mahuika got so mad she frew her last ball at Maui and it had miss
and it Hit the tree Maui ran as fast as he could back home and taught the
people how to make fire with branches.

In the beginning there was te kori (nothingness).Then the te ata (the dawn)  and
the father (Ranginui) and mother (papatuanuku).The mum and dad had children
they were all male,Maui was their favourite son.

One beautiful night Maui and his Tane Mahuta (Maui’s brothers) went out to fish.
Maui’s brother was paddling and then all of a suddenly Maui yelled
“ko tenei te wahi” (This is the place).

He grabbed his grandmas jawbone and tied to the rope. He swinged it like a
cowboy and throwed it in the sea and it went deep deep into the sea.Then
suddenly there was  a pull from the fish and it was a signal that he caught the fish.
Then the boat started circling around and Maui shouted“I have a great fish”.
He pulled and pulled and the fish began to come up.The water was rising and it
hit Maui and his brothers.

Maui woke up and saw that he was on a island. It was indeed that Maui catched a
great fish.Te ika o maui ( the fish of Maui).It became the North island of
New Zealand. Maui stepped on the surface and then it magically
grew plants,trees,bush,hills and many other things.

Maui and his brothers left on a voyage to go and and visit mother.When
disaster came,there canoe got trapped to the reef in the ocean. There canoe
flipped upside down and the brothers fell into the ocean. To save themselves
they climbed the great canoe and the cold south wind froze them to turn into
stones. They cuddled together to keep warm.

Now they are mountains called the Southern Alps.
